Are You New to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church?

Wherever you are on your faith journey,
you’re welcome here.

At St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Billings, Montana, we’re not defined by a single voice in the pulpit or a rigid structure—but by a vibrant, connected community of people who care deeply, serve faithfully, and show up for each other in meaningful ways.

What to Expect

We’re a small, warm, and inclusive congregation. Most Sundays, you’ll find about 25–30 people in our sanctuary, gathered for a service that blends tradition with heart. There is no permanent pastor at St. Andrew—but that’s not a shortcoming, it’s a strength.

Our services are led by a rotating group of ordained ministers and elders. This model gives our worship a unique depth and diversity. You’ll hear different voices, perspectives, and preaching styles that reflect the breadth of Christian faith. One Sunday you might hear from a retired hospital chaplain; the next from an elder or a campus pastor. Services are enriched with live music, visual presentations, and meaningful liturgy. And yes, we livestream each Sunday so you can join us online, too.

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Adult Sunday School is offered from September through May at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship (10 a.m. in summer, 11 a.m. the rest of the year). There’s also a Women’s Bible Study on Tuesdays, quilting ministry on Wednesdays, and regular fellowship time after worship.

St Andrew You Belong Here

You Belong Here

Our members often describe St. Andrew as “family.” We’re the kind of place where everyone knows your name, where people look out for each other, and where support doesn’t stop when the service ends. Whether you’re new to Billings, seeking connection, or simply curious about what a church without a full-time pastor looks like—we invite you to come and see for yourself.

You don’t need to be Presbyterian to feel at home here. Our congregation includes people from many faith backgrounds—Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran—and none at all. Everyone is welcome, no matter your beliefs, background, or where you are in life.

Ministries with Heart

St. Andrew is proud to be the only PC(USA)-recognized Earth Care Congregation in Montana. Our faith inspires us to care for God’s creation, which we live out through one of our most cherished ministries: the garden.

Behind the church, you’ll find a beautiful green space with more than 100 garden plots, an apiary, orchard, greenhouse, native plant demonstration garden, and a peaceful labyrinth. Half of this space is dedicated to a mission garden—harvested by volunteers and donated to Billings Family Service to provide fresh produce to those in need. This garden brings together people from across the city, including many who aren’t members but have found community here.

We’re also home to an active quilting group that creates and donates beautiful handmade quilts to women’s shelters and local nonprofits. Plus, our congregation supports youth ministry at Westminster Spires Church Camp in Red Lodge, local missions like Tumbleweed, and global disaster relief through PC(USA) giving initiatives.

Policies and Guidelines

Gardeners agree to:

  • Attend a Gardener Orientation meeting at the beginning of each year. Plots will not be assigned until an orientation meeting is attended.
  • Be assigned a maximum of four plots. Returning gardeners may be assigned their same plots the following year.
  • Maintain communications with garden leaders by reading emails or making other arrangements to receive timely phone calls or printed mail.
  • Participate in the upkeep and operation of the Community Garden and the Mission Garden. This includes accepting and completing specific responsibilities and participating in Spring and Fall workdays. Gardeners with 1-2 plots will accept one assignment, and gardeners with 3-4 plots must accept two assignments.
  • Maintain their plot by weeding and other maintenance, including clearing, removing weeds from the paths adjacent to their plot, removing weeds and seed heads from self-seeding plants such as larkspur, calendula, dill, chives, and any other type of plant designated by the Garden Committee.
  • Clear their plots at the end of the growing season and remove buckets, trellises, cages, and other loose items.
  • Not allow plants to grow into the pathways or neighboring plots.
  • Not use inorganic pesticides or fertilizers nor plant genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
  • Notify the Plot Garden manager if they cannot maintain or must neglect or abandon a plot for any reason.
  • Not allow tall crops to shade a neighbor’s plot, block sprinklers, or otherwise negatively impact plant growth. Plants, tomato cages, and any other structures may not exceed 4 ft. in height.
  • Not modify plot boundaries or build structures on the plot without approval from the Garden Committee. Raised beds should not be higher than 12 inches.
  • Not store unused items in or around plots such as buckets, wood, metal, or plastic.
  • Only harvest produce from their own plot unless given permission by a fellow gardener.
  • Not adjust the watering system sprinklers or controller.
  • Not disturb others by playing radios or other music devices near the garden or labyrinth when others are present.
  • Not bring pets into the garden and respect the garden as a smoke-free area.
  • Follow these policies, understanding that failure to do so may result in rental termination and/or denial of application the following year.
